As the last project of the 3-year Web Deelopment track at the academy, the teacher decided to try something new and challenged his students to reimagine the academy's website for a new generation. Oh boy! When they say students MUST surpass their teachers, this is the version where students slam dunk with a double twist in the air over their teacher!
The first version of the Kerryn Academy was developed close to seven years ago, at a time when the the word "AI" appeared only in sci-fi movies, Tik Tok had just launched after 3 failed pivots and the term "Vibe Coding" meant coding while dancing before it's 2025 rebrand. chatGPT would not appear for another 3 years.
And in that short time span, web design evolved at breakneck speed, AI coding agents spit complete website in 12 minutes, LLM's are taking over all the tech jobs and a young generation of thinkers, dreamers and achievers are taking their rightful place on the shoulders of the Gen X'ers.
The first line of the project requirements read: "Reimagine the Kerryn Academy website, interface, organization and layout for a new generation."
Miss Kissoon, a member of that new generation, completely broke the stalwart design philosophy of old and delivered a modern, future-forward, youth-focused interface that you will probably see and experience real soon when we bring this academy to its version 2.0!
